Michelle Weber was born in Las Vegas, NV and claims to be a gypsy at heart. Having show business parents, she started traveling early in her life, moving from coast to coast and also abroad. Not only did her travels give her the appetite for fine foods, but also her mother, being a gourmet chef, greatly influenced her at an early age. In the end, Michelle’s travels and heritage played a major role in all of her flavor combinations and choice ingredients that she uses in her delicious chocolates and truffles. Growing up in a household with a gourmet chef was a real challenge for Michelle. At the age of eighteen, she left home and began working with chocolate. Starting out with a simple truffle recipe torn from a magazine, Michelle dabbled with countless versions before inventing her very own. Her chocolates and truffles were a huge hit; everyone loved them, even her mother, the toughest food critic in the family. When her husband lost his job after 9/11, Michelle moved back to Las Vegas where she started a business selling her delicious chocolates to hotels and other businesses to help pay the bills. After a couple of years, the monotony of using one flavor dipped in dark and white chocolate had completely depleted her passion for her work; her creativity was stifled. Another two years went by and not another chocolate was created until Michelle took a weekend course at the Notter School of Pastry. There she learned the art of painting and airbrushing chocolates, turning them into jewels and sparking her interest in chocolate once again! Her teacher Edwald Notter, had such an influence on her that she decided to take all of his chocolate classes with the dream of opening up her own chocolate shop. Then in 2006, she did exactly that when Cocoa Michelle opened its doors for business, in Westport, Connecticut. Today, Cocoa Michelle's exquisite chocolates and gifts are available to buy online, and can be shipped to anywhere in the USA so everyone can enjoy them. |
